Sunsets are almost always special regardless of location but I’ve painted plein air in around enough salt marshes to enjoy the memory of listening to the various bird sounds against the gathering silence as the day is coming to an end. This sunset is of a salt marsh in South Carolina from a beautiful photo supplied by Pat Sewell. It inspired me since it reminded me of similar sights in around Assateaque and other salt marshes in Maryland and New Jersey.
