I’ve painted different subjects over the years but painting landscapes, especially plein air, really brings me joy. There is something about how one is further connected to a place or moment when you are there trying to paint it. I’ve painted this location a couple of times now and it is a spot directly adjacent to an interstate highway. I believe it is a little pond that was formed for the cattle to go to for some water. No one ever pays attention to it at 70 mph but it catches my eye every time I pass. Something very tranquil and serene about it.
