Every year there seems to be this period around very late summer/ early fall where we will get this streak of spectacular sunsets. I am not quite sure what drives this occurrence but these sunsets can catch one by surprise as they seemingly occur at the very last moments of the day.
There is a gym close to where I live and when you exit through the entrance doors, you are facing almost due west. As I was exiting the gym the one evening, this sunset was just beginning to form. As I drove home, things started to get really interesting and I had to pull over to watch the drama unfold.
As I was watching the sun set, it seemed like the horizon was being set on fire from the setting orb or light. Of course, my painting does this moment no justice but I knew the as I started to snap pictures I would at least give it a shot.
