There is a farm down the road from where I live and they temporarily hold steer there when they are being transported to their final destination. The pasture and the steer remind me so much of my time out west playing cowboy in Pinedale Wyoming for a spell. When the light is hitting the pasture just right on a late summer day, it glows. But this painting was not about the pasture but the actual steer gathered at their feed area. The sun was located just right to kind of create a highlight on the one particular lady which caught my eye. It seems that I caught her eye as well and the rest was history.
